Open Auditions

CFS holds open auditions twice a year during the Fall & Spring semesters. This means professional actors come to the school and audition for you. Going to these auditions is of great benefit to you and your productions. Auditions are uploaded to the headshot database located on FS Greenlight. Open Audition attendance is mandatory for ALL Production I students. Production II and higher students are encouraged to book reservations in the building during the same time as the event to capitalize on talent presence in the building.

Student Show Submission

The Student Show is produced in 2K.

If you provide a format other than 2048×1080 and it makes the showing it will be pillar boxed on the screen compared to those that are 2K. Your final project should be submitted in Apple ProRes 422  2048×1080  23.98fps. The show will be projected in 2K, 5.1 surround sound. So take the time to mix your movie in surround sound.

Please see Jordan Meyersieck for technical assistance concerning 2K and Anamorphic issues. All Super 16mm transfers should be Anamorphic, NOT Letter-boxed. Regular 16mm should be transferred as 4×3.

Although we cannot show every student project at the end of the semester, it is essential that you attend the student showing. Not only will you see what other students are doing, you may also make good contacts for future projects.

Stay tuned towards the end of the semester when detailed instructions on uploading to Ensemble, will be released.
